What is a Tribute Artist?

A tribute artist, tribute act, tribute band or tribute group is a singer, musician or music group who specifically plays the music of a well-known music act. Tribute acts may include individual performers who mimic the songs and style of an artist as a celebration of, or a salute to, that musical person’s career in entertainment.

An impersonator is an individual person who literally pretends to be someone else for entertainment, usually identifying themselves as the actual person they are impersonating.
