Pete Paquette From Ottawa Valley Region Wins Non-Professional Division
Shon Carroll of Kitchener, Ontario wins Professional Division - Early Years
Marcus Wells of Toronto, Ontario wins Non-Professional Division - Concert Years

The sunshine, pleasant temperatures, an improved climate for tourism and a well organized festival all contributed to large crowds and terrific entertainment at the 10th annual Collingwood Elvis Festival.

Tribute Artists came to Collingwood from as far away as England, the southern and western United States, Australia and all parts of Canada to entertain the thousands of visitors who came to remember the King and to party!

And it was a terrific weekend party! Friday night’s Downtown Collingwood Street Party began at 3pm and continued past midnight. Every Tribute Artist in attendance took to the main street stage to introduce himself (or herself) to the large crowd and to sing one song. Downtown Collingwood BIA Manager Sue Nicholson says organizers were extremely pleased with the large turnout at this year’s festival. She says the festival has revitalized this year’s summer tourism season in Collingwood. Nicholson feels the Elvis Festival team worked very well together and established a winning system for next year’s event.

Collingwood’s Director of Leisure Services Peter Dunbar says attendance numbers were up from last year and this year’s festival has been a huge success. “I think the moon and the stars were all in the right order” said Dunbar. “The weather was absolutely perfect, you couldn’t write a better script” he said. “The attendance at the Pine Street stage was outrageously successful” Dunbar added. Tribute Artist Luc Bissonnette is from Welland and after performing on the Pine Street Stage Sunday afternoon he said that he was already making plans to return next year. “The people are great, It doesn’t matter about the competition it’s just about having fun” he said. “I hope it just keeps getting bigger and bigger, the music is amazing” Bissonnette added.

David Lee from Birmingham, Alabama was honoured as the Professional Tribute Artist Grand Champion - Concert Years, before a packed house at Sunday night’s Grand Finals in the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena in downtown Collingwood.

Shon Carroll of Kitchener, Ontario won Professional Division - Early Years.
Pete Paquette from the Ottawa Valley region was named top Non-Professional Tribute Artist - Early years.
Marcus Wells of Toronto, Ontario won the Non-Professional Division - Concert Years.
The Senior Youth Division Tribute Artist was won by Paul Fracassi of Woodbridge, Ontario. And, Steven Pelleriti of Brampton, Ontario was the Junior Youth Tribute Artist winner.
